Lyme Disease Treatment in Pets
Lyme disease is a bacterial infectious tick-borne disease which affects mostly the dogs also some other pets like cats. The bacterium that causes this disease is called the Borrelia burgdorferi.
The disease can lead from mild to severe problems such as the renal diseases, Arthritis and even death. The most common symptoms associated with the Lyme disease include the lethargy, fever, joint swellings and lameness.
The Lyme disease can be treated with antibiotics as it is a bacterial disease; this is however useful if the disease is detected during the earlier stages. Some times this treatment is as easy as a 24 hour matter, mostly in dogs because it takes place very commonly in their cases. Some times the Lyme disease can reach severity and a long term treatment plan is to be followed for its eradication. The chronic cases of the disease also require a much longer time period.
There are some natural remedies of the lyme disease which involves the use of herbs like Milk Thistle which contains an antioxidant called the silymarin which helps in blocking the toxins entering the liver and resulting in improved liver functions. This improves the over all body conditions and as Lyme disease also affects the liver, it can also be controlled.
Crotalus is a homeopathic remedy for the Lyme disease together with others like the Ferrum Phosphate C6 and Aconite C6 which are all used for the treatment of the Lyme disease in pets.
The Lyme disease can also be treated with alternative medicines of different types especially in the cases of cats. However for the prevention of the disease there are vaccinations for the disease which should be duly provided to the pets so as to prevent the disease from prevailing.
